Dragon Quest VII Demo
Get a head start on a big adventure
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is out in demo form. The originally PS1 exclusive RPG has long held the reputation as a snail’s pace sort of game, but the demo for Reimagined will allow players to carry over their progress when the game releases on the 5thof February, 2026. That means that you can get a head start on the adventure, although Square Enix have suggested that Reimagined won’t quite move in the glacial manner of the original. Square have been very good about releasing demos for their games in recent times, and the chance to move progress made over to the proper release is always good.
The Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo is available now for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series and PC through Steam.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Finally making my way with Octopath Traveller 2.
