It looks like Sega reboot of the Crazy Taxi franchise is going to be an online multiplayer game: let’s write the obituary.

Now, now, I won’t write it off just yet, but the thought of just how many micro-transactions Sega could cram into an online Crazy Taxi game causes me shivers. The idea of an MMO Crazy Taxi game isn’t too mad, but I’m not entirely sure how a multiplayer game (a massive one at that) would play into Crazy Taxi’s fare-chasing gameplay. There were some scenes of a police chase in the original reveal trailer, so a sort of cops-and-robbers, or maybe a capture-the-flag sort of game mode could be in for the reboot: we’ll just have to wait and see.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
