Bokeh’s Next Game
What’s next?
Bokeh Game Studio managed to release their first game in 2024, Slitterhead, the horror action game from Forbidden Siren and Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama. The game has been fairly well received despite its rough edges, and apparently performed well enough that Bokeh are looking to expand for their next project.
On the Japanese recruitment website hrmos, Bokeh and Mr. Toyama have a put out a call for prospective hires. The studio is in the early stages of their next project, and it looks like its going to be another original work. From the website, Mr. Toyama says ‘We don’t make what anyone else could make’, Google translate says. It would certainlly be in keeping with Mr. Toyama and Bokeh, Silent Hill, Forbidden Siren and Slitterhead are all their own unique works, and I hope we see more from the studio; people like them keep things interesting.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Finally tackling Octopath Traveller 2.
