Analogue 64

Analogue, the people behind the Super Nt, Mega Sg, Duo and Analogue Pocket, have turned their attention to a new generation for their next FPGA console; a massive 64 bits of power. Analogue are known for putting together brand new, FPGA based recreations of older consoles, and on the whole, those recreations are highly thought of. The big draw of these consoles is the idea that, thanks to the FPGA emulation at play, when you use an Analogue console, you’re getting about as close to recreating playing the original that each of their consoles are based on, just with modern conveniences like outputting to HDMI for a crisp picture.
Next for Analogue is the Analogue 3D, a new Nintendo 64 FPGA console; one that will play original N64 cartridges no less.
Analogue are promising 100% compatibility with all official Nintendo 64 games that were originally released on the console more than 2 decades ago, and it’s region free.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? I started dipping my toes in the vast sea of Kemco JRPGs.
