Alien Isolation Is Getting A Sequel

Ten years ago the one of the best survival horror games in years came out: Alien Isolation. Isolation took a lot of the run-and-hide mechanics of modern horror games, but also brought some limited combat elements, helping to shorten the gap between modern horror games and classic survival horror games. On top of that, Isolation managed to capture the feeling of its title, both the feeling of isolation on the massive Sevastopol station, as well as creating a brand new entry into the franchise that was faithful to the original movie. The first time you see the Xenomorph it could be as if you were watching Alien, at least for a second. The game was very well received among fans (understandably so), and there was no shortage of hopes for a sequel. After a decade things didn’t look to promising, but creative director Al Hope changed all that when, writing on X, he announced that a sequel to Alien Isolation was in early development.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? I started dipping my toes in the vast sea of Kemco JRPGs.
