A Brand New Nintendo 64 Game

You may remember a very impressive looking project to bring the teleporting puzzle hit Portal to the Nintendo 64 a little while back. The project was being done by a clever man call James Lambert (so clever he’s even gotten VR working on the N64), but unfortunately the portal 64 project has been abandoned by Mr. Lambert; not of his own will but because of some possible legal issues he may have run into if he tried to bring the game out release.
While Portal 64 might have sunk under the horizon, Mr. Lambert hasn’t left his N64 related programming skills to get dusty; he’s already in the early stages of development for a new game: afire flinging action game no less.
The new game will see you playing as a wizard who can combine different elements to create new spells.
It’s still very early in development, so when we’ll see this new N64 game is anyone’s guess, but we already have some footage of the game, as well as an explanation of Portal 64’s fate from Mr. Lambert himself over on his official Youtube channel. You can watch the video from Mr. Lambert below.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Returning to the black hole that is Football Manager.
