Switch 2 Compatibility Improvements
Compact compat
I think Nintendo deserves some praise. Backwards compatibility is something that I think should always be available where possible, and Nintendo looks to be putting in the effort to make that compatibility work for as many Switch games as they can.
As if the boost mode that Nintendo introduced in the last update wasn’t enough, it turns out that a bunch of Switch games have also seen improvements, meaning more older games will run without issue on the Switch 2.
You can see if a particular game is backwards compatible with the Switch 2 on Nintendo’s official list here, but headliners for the new update include Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age, Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe, Doom (2016) and Limbo.

Playing videogames, writing about videogames, considering videogames—that about sums it up. Videogames are the one hobby that I’ve kept since I was only little, zapping ducks on the NES or knocking out MR. X. And when I’m not enjoying classics from the bit generation of games or checking out those earliest of polygons, I’m probably playing something from today’s age of modern gaming: if I’m not complaining about it. Something I’m doing at the moment? Finally tackling Octopath Traveller 2.
